Tools of the Trade

Many people think all silver objects are simply cast and polished - that includes tea sets, flatware, and other useful and sculptural works of art. This couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, silversmiths must make a huge investment in tools, equipment, and even space to fabricate and forge what you may be using or have displayed in your home. Many tools are handwrought or machined for specific jobs that may never be used again. Pictured below are selected views of Artisan workshops and how they're organized.
