Evans Sterling Teapot
The original finial on this pot was missing. Luckily, a black & white image was discovered and used as a guide to make the replacement. I turned a new finial out of East Indian rosewood (matching the handle material) which sits in a sterling bezel. I then created a sterling threaded rod that is glued inside the finial and protrudes through the bezel and the cover, terminating with a sterling nut. The handle required securing with new sterling pins, and the hinge was adjusted so the cover would close easily. The silver was then hand polished. Read about Evans here. |
