18th Century English Cutlery Box

The box's applied sterling shield had a piece missing in the upper left corner (see above). I removed the shield and welded a piece of.010" sterling sheet to the area then shaped and engraved it. I then added patina to restore the antique finish. Three sterling nails were recreated and hammered the shield back in place.
