Mixed Metal Teapot
Isn't this piece just "ducky?" Bearing the maker's mark of Antonio Pineda, this teapot is made of sterling, brass, and copper, and lined with sterling to make it usable. It had an unattractive brushed patina which was covered with lacquer that had yellowed over time. It was decided these elements should be removed. The cover required adjusting to sit level. The decanter was then hand polished and protected with Meguiar's Quik Wax. |
The pot's underlying surface was left the way it was prior to applying the patina. The interior is sterling sheet that was brazed to the exterior sheets. |
