Patina to Flatware
I'm occasionally asked to restore flatware to its original factory condition. Most of the time what my customers are really looking for is to have factory-applied patina reapplied and the silver's luster returned and not to make the flatware look new. As you can see by the image on the left, this spoon had its patina worn away, probably from the dishwasher, and sometimes from using chemical dips. I applied a patina which is absorbed into the pores of the metal. (This isn't a paint that sits on the surface which will eventually rub off.). I then polished in a way that results in an organic, more three-dimensional appearance. |
