Sterling
Belt Buckle
Sterling belt buckle splits aren't unusual because of the pressure exerted upon them when securing the belt. This was the case above; in fact there were breaks on both sides. I opened the splits with a v-shaped graver and filled 3/4 depth with Argentium welding wire which made the repaired area much stronger than using straight sterling. I then topped it off with sterling for a perfect color match. And since the hinge pin was a bit loose I decided to tack it in place so it wouldn't come out. |
